Basic screen door safety is achieved using Diamond Grille Screen Doors. Popular, largely because of its affordability, but beware, the quality of Diamond Grille doors can vary widely in the marketplace.
The key issue tends to be how the aluminium diamond grille is held in place. The only Diamond Grille doors we sell at Eaton’s are either riveted or welded. This ensures the grille cannot just be “ripped out” using basic brute force.
10 times stronger than your average rivetted Diamond Grille, their HD10 is double welded in each corner and every third contact point with the frame. Teamed with a triple lock, and you've got a serious safety and security screen door. Colours and decorative styles are as important as safety, so unless you are matching to already installed diamond grille doors, we recommend all grilles to be black. The simple reason is that black grilles, irrespective of the colour of the frame, are less noticeable.
